A little about me:

I was born in South Korea and live and work in Los Angeles. My work consists of sculptures, paintings, and photographic work (so far), through which, I’m interested in playing with the idea of leveling some of our learned biases; inside and out, front and back, painting or sculpture…, while experimenting with each medium’s materiality itself. Expounding on ideas from popular culture, literature, science, and found objects, my personal voice draws from the early years of working as an international shoes and accessory designer and my post-graduate studies in architecture. My real-time portrait painting series called, “lunch-time Portraits” (a tribute to Frank Ohara’s Lunch Poems) that started in 2015, is a platform where I document my community in an organic and spontaneous manner, offering a place of dialogue and warmth in a cold market driven art world.
